Station Cove Falls–4 Foot Bridges in- 1 Mile Round Trip-Easy Walk!

A lovely visitor came to see me for the weekend from North Carolina. I couldn’t have asked for a better adventure buddy than my cousin, Amy Reid. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon in the outskirts of Walhalla, South Carolina.

Going to the waterfall at Station Cove was enjoyable. The whole walking trail, from where we parked at the trail head to the waterfall and back, was 1 mile. It was super easy terrain. The natural flora and fauna is outstanding. There are ferns, mushrooms of all sorts, and song birds in multitude. Plus, there are lots of trees and so much more. The walking trail and park is free!

We donned our comfy sneakers and off we went, bottled water in hands–the trail head information sign states that it takes about 30-40 minutes to go round trip from parking area to waterfall and back. Amy and I, though, took our time and spent a total of about 2-2.5 hours as we chilled on the flat table rocks on the edge of the waterfall pool and did what we do best, talked, looked at the waterfall, splashed our feet, and talked a whole lot more!

The trail is super easy for walking. At one point, it splits off into another trail that leads to another site 2.7 miles away.We weren’t brave enough to trek through that today! The trail is easy, as stated, and allows bicycles (non motorized). The trail is also very family and pet friendly. However, I don’t believe it’s accessible or usable for mobility aids like wheelchairs.

Picnic on Seneca lake, Clemson South Carolina

Located on the edge of Clemson, near the university, is a wonderful lake access park. That is a wonderful place just to chill out and enjoy the wonderful springtime weather.

I packed a picnic, okay, well, I used the McDonalds app to get a free chicken McNugget Happy meal with points, so they packed my picnic for me; it was yummy, of course.

An easy, breezy day with a tasty picnic is just what was needed!

Hartwell-Georgia on my mind-a picnic on the Savannah River

Enjoying a long weekend with fine weather calls for a small adventure, crossing state lines to go into Georgia-with an easy picnic.

Okay, I “cheated” with the picnic, picking up some bagged food to enjoy on my outing, but the beautiful late autumn colors, a little fire in the perma-grill, and spectacular views, listening to the songs of the river and chirping of the birds, well worth it!

Located just outside Hartwell, Georgia, the Savannah River location, just beyond the Savannah Hydro-damn is quite stunning; an easy drive without any gate or tag fees, it’s quite a lovely place to enjoy the tranquility, enjoy an easy picnic and the splendor of God’s wonderous works.

Summer Salad-a cool way to eat in the heat

Summer in the South is especially hot and I don’t like heating up the house in the middle of the day to cook myself a meal and make the house even hotter, so what is the solution? A salad!

A bag of salad mix ( I used a Farmers Blend as it was on manager special)

a half pint of slice cherry tomatoes

small avocado, chunked small

2 tsp of chia seed

dressing of choice

*optional to add a can of tuna or leftover chicken
